Fiann Paul Foundation

Fiann Paul Foundation was founded in 2011 by Fiann Paul after two years he spent living among the local people in the Himalayas. Together with Mani Khatiwada and Natalie Caroline they created a foundation to provide education and skills training to the Himalayan children in the eastern area of Nepal. The foundation strives to build schools in remote areas of the Himalayas and raise awareness of the plight of Himalayan children worldwide. The aim of Fiann Paul Foundation is to create a sustainable charity model that incorporates new schools into the Nepalese educational system, in order of developing a local school community with as little outside help as possible.

Studies have shown that focusing only on one section of the population - children - while ignoring the rest will not bring about efficient results. The importance of education has to be made clear to the whole community: in order for kids to complete their studies, first we’ll have to convince their parents that it’s worth it—for their family and for the society as a whole—to send them off to school, while creating jobs for their parents and other members of their community.

PROJECTS

In 2013 Fiann Paul Foundation built a primary school in the remote region of Taplejung in eastern Nepal. The project contained two buildings creating educational opportunities for 150 local children per year.
